Culturide
May 11, 2024, 7-10pm
Proyectos Raul Zamudio and The Empty Circle are pleased to present, for one night only, Culturide. Four politically engaged artists searching for America through its artists, gallerists, and curators on a motorcycle trip through the American heartland in a time of political unrest and the true swamp of a divided country. How is contemporary art coping?
Four artists - Alanna Airitam, Richard Ankrom, Wayne Martin Belger and Max Presneill - ride their Harley Davidson motorcycles and chase trucks from Los Angeles to New York City, making a documentary and interviewing visual art professionals about the state of American visual arts. Seeing the country first-hand and experiencing the myriad ways in which America perceives itself, traveling through the beauty of its landscape and finding solidarity and friendship together, the four artists arrive in New York City to mount a one-night-only exhibition of their work at Empty Circle, in Brooklyn, before continuing the road trip documentary back to Los Angeles.
